About

Dr. Kimberly Hubenette

Dr. Kimberly Q. Hubenette earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California in 1993, following in the footsteps of her father and several cousins. With a deep passion for whole-body health and Airway-Focused Dentistry, she dedicated her career to integrating the oral-systemic link, educating patients on prevention, and collaborating with medical professionals to improve overall well-being. She has received numerous accolades, including a Mastership award from the Academy of General Dentistry, and has contributed to dental education as an associate professor and mentor to pre-dental students.

Beyond her extensive contributions to dentistry, Dr. Hubenette’s life took a profound turn with the passing of her beloved husband, Mark, in 2019. This loss reshaped her purpose, leading her to explore grief, resilience, and the art of living fully. Determined to honor Mark’s memory, she has since dedicated herself to writing, sharing their extraordinary journey through books that explore survival, self-discovery, and embracing life’s adventures. Her work is inspired by their experiences living off the grid, navigating challenges, and checking off bucket-list dreams. Through her writing, she aims to help others facing loss, providing them with hope, strength, and the motivation to keep moving forward.

“No matter how small it may seem, every moment of your journey matters. Even in the depths of grief, you should know that your life still holds meaning and purpose.”

In addition to her writing, Dr. Hubenette remains active in her community, supporting veterans through Freedom Day USA, mentoring through the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, and engaging in various philanthropic efforts. She was instrumental in bringing Freedom Week Sonoma to life, an initiative that encourages local businesses to show appreciation for veterans and active-duty military members. She also plays an active role in local fundraising events, sponsoring causes such as the Red and White Ball, Sonoma Valley Hospital, children’s programs, and youth sports teams.

Her dedication to service extends beyond her professional and philanthropic work. She is passionate about personal growth and transformation, encouraging others to embrace life’s challenges and step into new opportunities. As a public speaker, she shares her insights on resilience, personal empowerment, and living a fulfilled life despite adversity. Her talks resonate with audiences who seek to find meaning after loss and reclaim their purpose.

Now residing in Santa Rosa with her loyal dog, Dakota, Dr. Hubenette finds solace in nature, whether fishing, hiking, camping, or riding her motorcycle. These activities provide her with a sense of peace and connection, allowing her to reflect and draw inspiration for her writing. Through her books and advocacy, she continues to encourage others to embrace life’s uncertainties with courage and purpose, proving that even in the face of great loss, there is always a path forward to hope and renewal.
